Twitter Trends worth $100,000 per day...What's it to You?

Posted by:

All Things Digital recently reported that a one-day promoted trend on twitter goes for $70,000 – $120,000. So what does it mean to a garage gym with a zero marketing budget? It means twitter is more powerful than you think and you’re silly if you don’t harness it for your community (especially if you live in a “social city“).

CrossFitters, in general, tend to shy away from syntax that creeps remotely close to corporate, advertising, hierarchies and even insurance. We are the anti-globogym. We’re revolutionaries that thrive on grass roots and guerrilla  marketing. It’s our culture and it makes twitter ideal for the garage gym. You craft the messages to your community – it’s your personality and your brand. Twitter is grass roots and word of mouth marketing at its best. The “big boys” understand this, hence the premium price for a day’s promoted tweet.

Via twitter you’re able to reach out to new people and have one on one interactions before they step foot in your gym. Potential clients can join your online community and get a feel for your culture, making your program all the more attractive. We know you do an excellent job of interacting with your clients at the gym, Twitter gives you the power to keep the “CrossFit Kool-Aid” effect going after their workout. This multi- dimensional tool allows you to rein in that tight-knit community throughout the day. When executed correctly, you’re tweets are worth thousands of dollars in advertising and you get it all for free.
