Being an entrepreneur is not a career path that starts at 9am and ends at 5pm. Weekends are simply days with more time to innovate, and your business is constantly on your mind, dreaming up new possibilities and plans. It requires discipline and a peculiar mindset – one that is intrinsically motivated to drive, learn and grow daily.
Ever find yourself watching a movie and suddenly you realize you’re interpreting how it relates to your industry or your business? Watching Julia & Julia with your wife is suddenly not a chick flick – it’s about the possibility of what can happen with a simple idea and dedication. The layered dreams of Inception illustrate how one can architect their world and their business. And Wall Street…..well, that’s just all about the hustle and love of the game.
Here’s a quick list for what we think it takes to be a successful CrossFit affiliate owner:
- 1st and foremost realize that you are in the service industry
- Care about your people & their success
- Have the desire to act NOW – not put it off until tomorrow
- Love the game, love the hustle, love to grind
- Be consistent
- Be comfortable with the word no
- Surround yourself with people who are smarter & better than you
- Don’t take yourself too seriously
- Be authentic and follow the “small town rules”
- Hire character and groom potential
- Be loyal to your people
- Push yourself, educate yourself, and evolve
- Expect excellence & “lead from the front”
- Be a dreamer – but have the guts to make your dreams your reality
- Power through mistakes, celebrate successes, but always get back to the grind – and on to the next
- Love CrossFit.
