Chad and Liani Oisted, owners of 1960 CrossFit, completed the August Garage Gym Blueprint training. They made the decision to register for the training prior to opening their doors in order to “avoid as many pitfalls as possible.” Within 4 weeks they had made some changes to their business plan, set up their 90 day calendar and are crushing it day in and day out. “We attended the seminar prior to opening our doors for business and figured it was best to learn from the people who’d “been there, done that” and were the best at it. It was the greatest business decision we’ve made thus far.”
What did you expect going into the Blueprint seminar?
We expected to learn the basics of ownership and operation of a CrossFit box. We wanted to learn marketing, how to pay trainers, how to set fees, scheduling/programming, and the logistics of challenges / events. Our expectations were exceeded exponentially.
What are the top 3 things you got out of the seminar?
The top three things we got out of the seminar were – culture / community and the power of empowerment, the benefits of the closed class model, and organizational structure of the business. Post seminar, we felt confident and excited. We were given confirmation on certain things we were doing right and had the time to fix the things we were doing wrong.
Where are we now: We’ve been open for 4 weeks. We have 11 clients who consistently market us to their communities. We have two coaches in training. We have our first nutrition seminar coming up in a couple of weeks and our first community workout this Saturday. We have 6 people signed up under Team 1960 CrossFit to do the Spartan Race in December. We’re busy. We’re humbled. We’re grateful.
Liani & Chad @ the August Blueprint
We are very excited for Liani and Chad! They are so full of life are truly living out their passion. They have already seen amazing gains in a short amount of time, and they’re just getting started.
