In the book, Outliers, Malcolm Gladwell makes the assertion that success does not come by luck or being in the right place at the right time. Success and stardom comes by rolling up your sleeves and by putting in 10,000 hours of work. Look at Tiger Woods, Jonny Wilkinson, the Venus & Serana Williams, Maxim Vengerov – these success stories have been honing their skills and talents since they were children.
It all goes back to the old saying, “practice makes perfect” If you want to be a great athlete, coach, great marketer, or great leader – how often do you practice? How many hours do you put in to increasing your skills, researching, reading, and developing your talents? Or do your days escape you, filled with busy work?
